Easter

Easter was really fun.  It was the first holiday where I felt like the kids (read: Andrew) would really know something special was happening.  We'd been reading some Easter books in the week leading up to the day.  On Saturday, we dyed eggs.  Andrew was totally psyched to help with the whole process from pouring the vinegar over the dye tablets to throwing the eggs into the mugs of dye to slamming them down in the drying rack.  It was very... exuberant.  But he had a ton of fun.

We only got one picture of Clara the whole time.  She much preferred playing on the floor to the boring activity at the table.

Saturday night was the end of a long chain of very rough sleeping nights for Miss Clara, and therefore Mama.  To top it off, I woke up with a migraine on Sunday morning, and so we sadly opted out of church.  Thankfully, after some rest, my migraine calmed down and I was able to enjoy the festivities.

Way too awake.

We had hidden the colored real eggs in the house and plastic eggs containing animal crackers, matchbox cars, grapes, and tomatoes (the surprising hit of the day) outside.  Once he got the hang of it he ran around saying, "One more egg!  Oh!  Looking, looking, looking... oh!  one more egg..."

Ready to hunt for eggs

After the hunt, we found a few small presents, like a red ball and some sunglasses.

Clara liked her Peep.

  1. The egg hunt looked like a hit! You got some great pictures of the actual moment of the find! Nice job. Sounds like it was a great day despite starting out with a migraine.
